Overview of the Rozsa Center
The construction of the Rozsa Center cost $20 million: $5 million from state funding and $15 million from private donations.
Completed in October 2000.
80,000 square-foot structure built to resemble the inclined look of the local copper mine hoists and shaft houses.
Includes a main stage, as well as an art gallery, recital facilities, a ticketing office, a concessions stand, practice rooms, dressing rooms, a scene shop (for constructing stage elements), classrooms, conference rooms, and offices.
The main theater seats 1067.
The Rozsa Center was built adjacent to the Walker Arts and Humanities Center, where the McArdle Theater and the Department of Visual and Performing Arts are located.
